Privacy Policy
Worlds Energy ("we", "us", "our") operates worlds.energy and the IQ Family of products (WanIQ, ByteIQ, PushIQ, HashIQ). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our websites or contact us, how we use it, and your rights under Canadian privacy law.
Plain-English summary. We don't run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on our marketing sites. We keep basic server logs for security and operations. If you fill out our contact form or email us, we use that information to reply. We don't sell your data. Ever.
1. Who we are
Worlds Energy is a Canadian technology company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. We operate under Canadian law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) federally and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) provincially.
For any privacy question or request, contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect
2.1 When you visit this website
Our web server (Caddy) automatically records standard access-log information for every request: IP address, timestamp, the URL you requested, referring page, user agent (browser and OS), and HTTP response code. We use these logs to keep the site secure, diagnose problems, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. Access logs are retained for up to 90 days and then rotated out.
2.2 Cloudflare (our CDN and DDoS protection)
This site is served through Cloudflare, which acts as a reverse proxy and security layer between you and our servers. Cloudflare processes your request and may set a small number of security cookies (notably __cf_bm) to distinguish humans from automated traffic and block malicious requests. Cloudflare's own privacy practices are described at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We do not use Cloudflare's analytics product to build marketing profiles. Cloudflare's security logs are used only for the purpose of operating the site.
2.3 When you contact us
If you use our contact form, send us an email, or call the phone number on our site, we receive whatever you choose to share โ typically your name, email address, company (if provided), and the content of your message. The contact form is processed by Formspree, which forwards the submission to us and discards it. We retain the contents of your inquiry in our email system for as long as needed to answer your question and keep a reasonable record of the conversation.
2.4 What we do not collect
- We don't run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party marketing tracker on this website.
- We don't sell or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't maintain advertising profiles on visitors.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above only to:
- Operate, secure, and improve our website and services;
- Respond to inquiries, quote requests, and support questions;
- Comply with legal obligations (for example, responding to a valid court order);
- Protect our infrastructure from abuse, attacks, and fraud.
4. Where your data is stored
Our servers are operated from Canada. Cloudflare is a global CDN and may route requests through its edge network outside Canada before they reach our origin servers. Email infrastructure and form processing (Formspree) are operated by US-based providers. By contacting us or submitting the form, you consent to your information being processed through these providers.
5. Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Withdraw consent for future use of your information (subject to legal and contractual obligations);
- Request deletion of your information, where we don't have an overriding legal reason to retain it;
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca) if you believe we've mishandled your information.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Security
We use TLS encryption for all connections to our websites, modern infrastructure hygiene (up-to-date software, least-privilege access, encrypted storage where appropriate), and active monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information with the same care we'd want applied to our own.
7. Children
Our services are intended for business and professional users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on our homepage.
